The New Christy Minstrels

The Deadwood Mountain Grand has many of good concerts. Some of which I don't know who they are. The New Christy Minstrels will be at Deadwood Mountain Grand on Sunday September 23 at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $29 and are on sale now. I have never heard of this band, so I have no idea if I would recommend this concert or not.

The New Christy Minstrels are an American folk music. This group was founded by Randy Sparks in 1961. Some of their hits include: "Green, Green," "Saturday Night," "Today," "Denver," and a cover of "This Land Is Your Land." There are seven musicians in this band. They include Kenny Rogers, Gene Clark, Kim Carnes, and Barry McGuire. The New Christy Minstrels is currently run by The New Christy Minstrels Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to preserving the group's music.

  3. I heard this concert advertised on the radio, but I didn't realize Kenny Rogers was part of the group. Is the foundation just for the group's music, or for folk music as a whole?
